Doug Clements

Missionary

Doug Clements surrendered to preach in 1993, and after pastoring 2 different churches from 1996 to 2000, he became the pastor of Calvary MBC in Idabel, OK, in July 2000. In his twelfth year as pastor, Calvary became the sponsor of the new work which would later become SIMBSS. In 2016, Doug resigned to become the Director of SIMBSS. Following his resignation, Doug and his wife, Valerie, moved to Malvern, AR. Over the past seven and a half years (except for the Covid years {January 2020-August 2020}), Doug has led teaching teams to the Solomon Islands every 3 months where classes have been held with 25-30 students attending each teaching term. During Covid, when churches all over the globe were struggling, the Lord impressed on Doug's heart to offer and promote Local Church Teaching Modules in an effort to encourage and help strengthen local churches, their pastors, and families. Doug and Valerie will have been married 40 years in January 2024. They have two children, a daughter, Kasey, and a son, Mitchell, and five grandchildren... all girls! Doug and SIMBSS are sponsored by Second Baptist.
